MMS2 Product - 100 x 167 mg Tablets
MMS2 is a high grade lab certified calcium hypochlorite - Ca(ClO)2 - in encapsulated form. Each bottle contains 100 tablets, which contains approximately 167 mg of calcium hypochlorite. When this compound comes into contact with water, it is quickly converted into hypochlorous acid.
Using MMS2 to purify drinking water: Adding the contents of one MMS2 capsule to approximately 40 liters of water will effectively destroy most known pathogens. Let the water stand for at least 30 minutes to allow MMS2 to do its job!
These tablets when activated within water will create the highly anti pathogenic hypochlorous acid. When in a tabulated form the calcium hypochlorite compound will remain stable indefinitely - meaning it will not lose efficacy over time. ONLY when exposed to water will the highly bio active hypochlorous acid be produced.
Solutions of CaDCC release "free" available chlorine in the form of OCL (Hypochlorite) & HOCL (Hypochlorous Acid). Both of these chlorine molecules are in a balanced 1:1 ratio, being in a mono & dichloroisocyanurate form. The simple chlorine form will be used first on organic pathogenic stressors quite quickly, whereas the Hypochlorite form tends to last longer & release over a longer period of time.
It is typically thought that the anti microbial activity of this compound is due to the enzymatic activity of the hypochlorous acid - causing hydrolysis of certain cellular structures within pathogenic structures. It is interesting to know that it has been known for more than 100 years that hypochlorous acid is used by the immune system endogenously within the body to kill most types of diseased / foreign tissue. What happen is that over time the immune system becomes deficient in this compound - hence forth becoming less effective against environmental stressors.
It is important to note that whilst this product will smell chlorine like to the nose - it is NOT chlorine. The active compound is bound in a stable form & when exposed to a low acid PH will break down into hypochlorous acid.
